Submission Guidelines

​Save the file as .png or .jpg for art; .docx or .rtf for writing.


Upload as an attachment to THIS FORM for the spring 2020 issue.

 

The submission deadline for the upcoming issue is April 20, 2020.

Naming the file: TitleOfPiece_LastName_GradeLevel

The theme for the Spring 2020 issue is: Saudade, a feeling of longing, melancholy, or nostalgia. This theme should guide submissions, but you are free to interpret it however you wish.

Writing may be poetry, nonfiction, flash fiction, short stories, personal writing, or any combination. Please specify in the Google form if your work must be formatted a certain way (i.e. artistic choice in poetry). If your work has no title, please put 'Untitled' in the file name and on the form.

Poetry: 100 lines or less

Other writing: 1000 words or less

Photographs of art must be taken flat and with neutral lighting. Please upload high quality photographs, or else we won't be able to use your work.


There will be minor editing for layout and printing; we will work with you in case of anything more.

Staff members' and creative writing class students' votes determine final decisions on which submissions will be published. All work is read and voted upon anonymously.
